Should I Forgive???

Forgiveness..Oh..That’s God’s act of mercy to us but what’s our act towards people?
Never knew I carried so much of unforgiveness.. but I knew I carried pain.. I carried bitterness..I carried tiredness…I carried hardheartedness n had always wondered why am I carrying all this??
I was amazed when the parable of the unmerciful servant came like a lightning bolt…
Read Mathew 18:21 to 35.
Mathew 18:32 to 35 says,
“Then the master called the servant in.You wicked servant,he said,’I cancelled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart”
and the phrase “THIS IS HOW (my heavenly Father will treat each of you)”knocked me down…Is our heavenly Father gonna do this to me???How could that be???Go back read the parable for yourself…
We all murmur the Lord’s prayer, ”Our Heavenly Father, Hallowed be Thy Name….. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us…”
Oh my goodness…. I have said the Lord’s prayer many times without understanding this very sentence..
Our heavenly father will forgive us just as we have forgiven our fellow beings.. but how could I forgive people who have been mean and unjust and who do not even deserve forgiveness??How could I forgive people who have caused tremendous pain n unbearable hurts??How could I forgive people who have condemned me when they were the ones who should have cared for me?? How could I forgive people who discouraged me when they were the ones who were supposed to encourage me??How could I??? How could I???
It’s as simple as just saying.. ”Father, I choose to forgive them…” forgiveness is a choice we all need to make.. and remember to forget everything they have done with God’s help.
The day I chose to forgive people I no longer carried pain.. I no longer carried bitterness.. I no longer carried tiredness…I no longer carried hardheartedness…
Forgiveness is not an act of justice but an act of mercy.. We were shown mercy for all that we did that we shouldn’t have. In the same way let us choose to show mercy. Let’s choose to walk in forgiveness every single day!!!
